Stop - Look - Listen

Stop - Look - Listen

You've got your plans in place.
But how do you know you're on track for success?

In January we took time for thinking, planning, and preparing our next move. Now that we know where we're going and how we're going to get there, we need to evaluate our progress along the way.

Are we hitting the right checkpoints, at the right time, and in the right order?

When a Boeing 777 sets off from Gatwick with 350 passengers, and a hold full of luggage, the pilot has more than a vague idea of where to point the plane. The dashboard is full of dials to help the pilot monitor global position, air speed, altitude, time travelled, fuel levels, engine performance etc. Ensuring that when the plane touches down it lands not only in the right country, but at the right airport and with 350 happy passengers!

Stop - Reflect - Plan

Stop - Reflect - Plan

Are you rushing blindly into the new year?
OR - taking time to plan your next move?

The new year deserves a new plan. A fresh view on how we want to improve our business. Before jumping into action - this is a great time for thinking, planning, and preparing.

If we're going to be strategic, we want to improve the areas that will have the greatest long-term impact to make our efforts worthwhile. We want to focus on the 20% that will make the biggest difference (if you don't know the 80/20 rule it's well worth learning).

Party - Party? - Party!

Martin Riley: December Newsletter

Party - Party? - Party!

Is work a conveyor belt of problems? Or do you celebrate your wins - and party!!?

Winning contracts, streamlining processes, developing staff, hitting targets, achieving goals. These are all victories! Any worthwhile goal takes hard work, time, and commitment to achieve. But having done so we immediately focus on the next, because there's always so much more to do. And we forget to appreciate what we've achieved so far.

Fires - Focus - Growth

Fires - Focus - Growth

Are you trying to solve too many problems at once?
Or are you stalled because you don't know where to start?

Business is a busy place! There are so many things to think about. It's easy to get caught up in everyday tasks and challenges. There's never enough time to stop and think, "Where do we want to be in 3 or 5 years - and what would make the biggest difference this year?"
